our thanksgiving prayer

Dear Lord,

You are Jehovah-Nissi, our Banner. You’ve captured our hearts and set them on fire. We are stuck on You – forever. May our lives be a living recommendation to others of the new life that we have in You.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. ~ Psalm 103:2 – NKJV

We’ve met with You, the holy, living, almighty God, and there’s no way we’re keeping that to ourselves. Teach us to war like Joshua, to pour out our worship like Mary, and to dance unashamed like David.

We’re not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, “I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!

II Corithians 4:13-15, The Message

Your plan doesn’t need our help; still it consumes us. Your love compels us. All around the globe, the faithful serve You in oppressive or thief-threatening circumstances.

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.

II Corinthians 4:16-19, The Message

We thank You that we can reach hearts with a click of a button and an investment of our time.  We thank you for calling us forward to speak, to teach, to listen, and to serve others for such an awesome time as this.

If you keep quiet at a time like this God will deliver the Jews from some other source, but you and your relatives will die: what’s more, who can say but that God has brought you into the palace for just such a time as this?

Esther 4:14, TLB

Bless our community here and Your body around the world. Unite and strengthen our hearts with passion, persuasion, and purity that honors You and the eternal message of hope.  Lord, we give You thanks in and for all things. To You be the glory, the honor, and praise.

Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving.

We’re thankful for you.
