It’s a big deal. A really big deal. When you #LiveSticky you resolve as a ransomed, redeemed disciple of Jesus Christ, to carry God’s message of hope to the world. Through your life God’s presence gets up-close-and-personal in the Land of Shiny Things.
So, if you are waiting for someone else (uh . . . like a pastor or a teacher) to show up and tell the people in your life about the hope of Christ—well, you may be sitting there for quite a while. God has tapped you to tell others about every measure of amazing grace He has let loose in your life. And He trusts you to do that even when you don’t trust yourself.
Paul writes in the above verse (2 Corinthians 4:7) that God chooses the weak, broken lives of ordinary men and women (you and me) to carry His message of glory to the world. Are you fragile? You bet! Flawed? Oh, yeaaaah! Cracked up and leaking out everywhere? Like an oil spill! But as fractured as your life may look to human eyes, you remain His beautiful beloved with a responsibility to tell anyone in earshot about the mighty King who rescued you.
To #LiveSticky means a burning passion for God’s glory awakens your soul each day. It means you live with the amped expectation that God will crash in with the miracle, the word, the answer, the provision, and the strength . . . precisely when you need it.
And what about when things get tough . . . and, yes, things will get tough. How then do we #LiveSticky? Read on in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18:
So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
When you #LiveSticky online you can see God’s grace unfolding in every click. You see God clearing the path before you; wrapping Himself around you, and increasing your strength when the day grows long. To #LiveSticky means you don’t give up because there’s more (so much more) going on here than your eyes can see or that your heart can begin to hold.
Have you considered that you have a ministry each time you log online? What excites you about that? What scares the clay out of you?
