the one morning meeting you don’t want to miss

Early in the morning the reception between here and heaven feels wide open and remarkably clear. Before you rush into the busyness of another day, make certain your meeting with Him is the one you don’t miss.

Divinely programmed in the routine sequence of time, morning arrives every day. Whether you consider yourself a morning person or not – sunrise signals something new, a fresh start, movement forward, and the reality you are one day closer to home. You sense God has a fondness for the morning. He deliberately ordered it before evening, filled it with light, wrapped it in promises, and even revealed His resurrected Son in it.

So go ahead, meet Him…

Allow Him to lovingly prepare you for the day He has made. His Word promises that as your praise and prayer ascend, His holy instruction will be revealed. He will empower, enable, and equip you for everything He has planned.

Show up and He promises you will be…

Satisfied. And I—in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness. Psalm 17:15

Loved. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Psalm 90:14

Encouraged. It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night. Psalm 92:1-2

Focused. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul. Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. Psalm 108: 1-3

Heard. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3

Helped. But I cry to you for help, O Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before you. Psalm 88:13

Comforted. O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. Isaiah 33:2

Renewed. Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentation 3:22-24

Directed. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

Instructed. The sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. Isaiah 50:4

Remember – May is Internet Evangelism Month. As you seek God this day, ask Him to show you specifically how you can make a difference online for His glory. If you’re here today, then be assured there’s an assignment waiting for you. We’re praying you will hear, receive, and step boldly into God’s divine plan…for such a times as this.

    I was just thinking this morning of “there’s no force more powerful than a loved woman.” Of course, in Christ, the same applies to men. The power of His love realized in our hearts is such a force! Confidence. Thinking of Kate as she walked down the aisle to marry Will. She was so confident. The prince loved her. Therefore the nation loved her.

    Jesus, the Prince of Peace, loves us. Therefore, the Father loves us and the Kingdom of Heaven loves us. Brings tears to my eyes!

    Thank you for the beautiful list of benefits and scripture! He truly is the One who wakens me and by His grace starts my day with forgiveness, grace, love & hope. Practicially speaking, I’m more willing to put my husband and children above my own agenda. One of so many reasons I love my 1-on-1 with Him each day.

    What a wonderful post to start the day with. Faithfully starting in quiet time with the Father is the key to living a fruitful day. On the days where I miss it, nothing goes as it should. I miss opportunities to serve and to follow Him. That’s not a good way to live.

    Morning time thinking of God and spending time with him really helps me through the day. I read my devotionals every morning before even getting out of bed. Then I am constantly thinking of what I have been reading in the morning throughout the day, which also helps me stay focused. Praying before going to work helps a lot too!

    Its amazing how a few lines of scripture in the mornings can impact us throughout the day. There is nothing like getting out of bed after spending some time focusing on God, its already a great start to the day! =]

    It is refreshing to see a sight that is committed to seeing the a difference between what is real, and what is being forgotten. Please continue to share your blessings and insights, in a world with so many areas of concern it is good to know that people are taking heed in Gods word and sharing in his inspiration and wisdom. Faith is a good friend, especially when you don’t know the road ahead, as in our troubled world we need faith and love of close friends and sharing our committment to God through community and social net working one net work at a time.

    Love this! Thanks for compiling these wonderful scriptures Tami.

    Back in Feb the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to me that I was to wake early and meet with Him. It has been a struggle at times (especially in the middle of winter in the North East) but oh, how He has showed up and delighted my soul. There is NOTHING like it!

    BTW, “In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” is Psalms 5:3 – not 5:31 – just highlighted in my Bible :-)
