10 places to go global, bear fruit, and love others

"Feed my sheep." - Jesus

By Tami Heim

God longs for you to fall in love with the things that hold His heart and for your purposes to align perfectly with His. He schedules no time-outs when it comes to completing His master plan.

He is the God that rescues, redeems, and restores.

Oh how He desires for you to be part of it. God makes His presence known and He wants it to be known through you.

Jesus tells us in John 15:16-17, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed to you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last Then the Father will give whatever you ask in my name. This is my commad: Love each other.”

Your response

God has appointed you to bear fruit and love people here, there, and everywhere. Bearing fruit and loving people begins in family, covers close friends, and grows within the church. It spills over into the workplace, community, and most certainly into online relationships. It has the potential to reach the other side of the world and back again, if you simply let it.

“God has created me to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me, which He has not committed to another. I have my mission – I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next… I have a part in a great work; I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons.” – Cardinal John Henry Newman

Wonderful list, Tami! I’m also a big fan of Global Support Mission. http://www.globalsupportmission.com/ – They go in and support indigenous leaders. Instead of riding in to the rescue, these guys find the locals who are really making a difference and empower them to take their efforts to the next level. Great stuff. :)

  • Tami Heim

Thanks for being the first to expand the list, Kenny. There’re so many opportunities to serve and support. I am praying over every ministry that gets listed here, asking God to embed a fierce love for each one in a new heart this week. Bless you for sharing!

    Hey Tami,

Thank you so much for including Soles4Souls in the list. There are some really A-list nonprofits & we’re honored to be included in it.

I like your list Tami. I’m familiar with the good work several of those organizations are doing, but there are some new ones on there that I’ll have to check out.  http://www.kiva.org is another organization that’s helping to facilitate micro-financing in poor countries. http://www.charitywater.org/ is another organization working to bring clean water to poor countries.

    Great organization! Love them!

I love the group Hands and Feet Project http://handsandfeetproject.org/. This is an amazing ministry by the Christian music grou, Audio Adrenaline that provides long-term, family-style care for orphaned and abandoned children. They are doing unprecedented things online and in-country for these kids who struggle to survive a world away. Please check them out and pray for them as they turn new ground. http://handsandfeetproject.org/

  • Melinda Ysaguirre

We love packing Christmas boxes too…such an amazing outreach globally all year long!

  • Tami Heim

Love them too. In fact we will be teaming up with them in December to build a playground for our orphanage in Haiti. They do amazing work. Thanks for adding them to the list here!

  • Tami Heim

Grateful for all you do! Posting tonight from Haiti and I know Wayne and the team are here on the ground too. Thank you for loving the people of Haiti and making a difference in this country.

  • Reggie

    Tami,
Thank you for including Women’s Rights Without Frontiers on your list of ten global ministries.  I’m honored and humbled to be on that list.  It was great to meet you at the Christian Women in Media conference in Nashville.  You are a gift.

  • Tami Heim

Thanks Paul. It’s amazing the good that can be accomplished via micro-financing. So glad you pointed to another group doing this type of work. I know the need for water around the world and see the struggle here in Haiti as women and children travel miles each day to get a daily supply. Spend time in a place where it is precious and it changes how you think about everything. Bless you for expanding the list.

  • Tami Heim

Awesome add to the list, Toni! Excited to be praying over all these ministries. Thanking God for those called, leading, and determined to change the lives of these children.

  • Tami Heim

Reggie, you are in my prayers always. I am amazed how few people know of what’s happening and the battle God has anointed you to lead. You are the voice for those that cannot be heard. God bless your courageous heart and faithfulness. I am the one humbled and honored, you my sister, are a hero.

  • Tami Heim

And everyone you pack matters because you have know idea of the “I love you ” that comes in each of them. Thankful that you will be standing where I am now and praying for you as He prepares you to GO. LYI.

Through the ministry of Intermission at Granger Community Church in Granger, IN many churches are being planted in India by training and equipping the people of India to become local pastors.  you can read about it here http://www.share-the-well-book.com/
You wouldn’t waste any minute spent looking at this site, reading this incredible book with it’s amazing pictures, or lifting this beautiful work of the Body of Christ up to the throne of grace.

I live in Alabama but have had my life impacted and my thinking about global ministry changed by what GCC is doing and how they are doing it in India.

  • Tami Heim

Thank you for sharing about this ministry, Amy.  You can’t do for others and not have God completely alter your life.  When we are willing to become His hands and feet – living and servng according to His command – everything changes. The world changes because of what He changes in us. It’s an honor to pray for this ministry, bless you for making it known here.
