But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. ~ II Peter 3:13
By Tami Heim
Yes, I’m still savoring Christmas, but I know this calendar year, whether I’m ready or not, is steam rolling into the history books. For some it’ll end like a strong sprint across the finish line or, at the other extreme, it’ll wash over as a muddled mess. Either way, 2011 is ready to wave its final good-bye and that leaves you and me almost standing face to face with 2012.
During this little gap between Christmas and New Year, are you trying to get a grip and orient towards whatever is new, better, and hopeful? How are you building your bridge between the timelines of the old year and the new one coming?
Our Prayer for 2012
We pray you will grow and discover new ways to make your voice heard. We ask God to give you a sense of urgency and an intense willingness to amp up the digital expression of God’s love and life in you. May the body be the body and radiate a magnificent cyber glow, living out boldly this great faith online. The world is desperate to see God’s glory in this time and place. You, beloved Christ followers, are His chosen point of contact. We pray you embrace the assignment and live each day to make Him known in the world.
We Encourage You

The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. Luke 2:20, NIV

They remembered. “Glory to God in the highest heaven"
By Tami Heim
By any chance, did you wake up wishing Christmas lingered a little longer this year? I did. I’ve been thinking about the shepherds and the afterglow they experienced seeing the heavenly host of angels and then gazing on the face of the baby Jesus. I image they shared the story of that night often and every time they did it brought them new comfort and joy. I simply refuse to surrender the sacred sweetness of this Christmas season. Will you refuse, too? I’m making some choices today and invite you to join me.
Today I’m going to…

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! Philippians 2:8, NIV
By Tami Heim
Inspired by Alece, at Grit & Glory, 2011 started with a one-word non resolution: Humility. As Christmas approaches and reflections on this past year begin to accumulate, people around the world celebrate the Breath of Heaven coming down to earth. God sends His Son and the world’s first introduction to the long awaited Saviour is a baby sleeping in a manger. Announced by prophets centuries before His birth, He arrives as our only Way, Truth, and Life. Every step, word, and action is marked with humility and testifies to the great love of the Father. That one word, humility, reflects His whole life.
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
– Philippians 2:5-7, NIV

I call you, friend.
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. – John 15:15, NKJV
By Tami Heim
Jesus called His followers friends long before it was culturally cool for you to call your online followers the same. If you look to and learn from the Author and Finisher of your faith you’ll experience the breadth and depth of what it means to be called a friend. There is no better day than this one to fall in love again with the Giver of so great a gift.

NOW!
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” – Mark 16:15, NIV
By Tami Heim
The command has been given. There’s much work to do and it’s time for you, beloved digital disciple to GO. Don’t keep this lost and dying world waiting another moment longer.
The journey starts HERE:
- Pray – Pray – Pray – Submit your heart, time, and online conversation to the Lord. Allow Him to power you up before you power on each day.
- Focus on the agenda – Stay on mission. Know why you are there and Who you serve.
- Listen carefully – There’s a lot of chatter, but among it are real people in real need of the Truth that can save them.
- Understand there’s a person behind every post –Hurt people hurt. It’s no different online. Don’t judge or discriminate. Ask your Father to see the person behind the post through His eyes.

Draw near to the throne of grace.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. ~ Hebrews 4:16, NIV
By Tami Heim
A culturally relevent image and a life-changing invitation occupy the text of a letter sent to Jewish believers. The author knows men and women ache to understand what will replace the life once governed by law, sacrifice, and tradition.
The answer arrives and it’s pure, simple, and amazing. The revelation transforms hearts and alters life ~ forever.
Jesus Christ.
Compassionate High Priest.
Rescues the lost. Mends what’s broken.
Redeems by grace.
Everything fits like new.
Beloved, the message and the invitation remain the same. Confidently drawn near. Listen carefully. Submit wholly. Receive fully. God’s mercy and grace are waiting at the throne for you!

Releasing your gifts online is a holy act of worship.
By Tami Heim
Click on your favorite social media site and it’s easy to dismiss your digital impression as just a blip on the screen. Be warned, however, there’s danger in that kind of thinking. Go too far and the next thing you know, fear and insecurity show up. When you discount your influence online, you deny God’s ability to work through you. Remember, you’re a precious original. He’s made you one of a kind. You’re gifted to do good work and that includes online.
Your consistency, whole-hearted commitment, and dedication to being completely what God created you to be illuminates the way for others. It also builds up and strengthens the whole body of Christ.
And that’s why there’s more
God designed you to compliment and complete others. Deliberately commissioned, you’re here as a member of His body to accomplish His plan for this generation. When you decide to live out your faith online, fully live it out; God’s progress is radically accelerated.
In chapter 12 of Paul’s letter to the Romans, you find the practical action plan for how to live and be. All of it’s applicable to you, online. Offer back to God the best of what He has put in you and your lives individually and collectively become a living sacrifice and a holy act of worship. It’s a beautiful thing and the consequences are eternal.
Paul instructs us how to live and be

God loves. He gave. You believe. You live.
By Tami Heim
Do you ever get tangled up in online conversations that strive to clarify Truth? Every day waves of voices compete to rise above the noise. The sound jams the high-speed connections of your life with a constant buzz. Discernment can be challenging. You begin to wonder, “Has the truth always been this complicated? What happened to simply living out my faith?”
It’s unsettling to feel the push and pulls of religious debates as they bump and bruise the essence of what you believe. In every network stream, someone is serving up theology by way of numbered lists, strict guidelines, ordered facts, or linked references. All of them are well intended and created to help you, and the rest of us, get it right.
