The Most Amazing Monday

resurrection, sharing Christ online, evangelism, Internet Evangelism Day, Toni Birdsong[repost]

by Toni Birdsong
It’s Monday. Again. With John Wayne grit, you point both barrels straight ahead determined to “get through” another week.

But before you agree to give into the grind, think about this:

Because of Sunday, your Mondays will never—ever—be the same. The glow of Resurrection day is on your face and it’s not coming off. You can’t pack it away with the pastels or expect to move through this world unnoticed, or unchanged.

You’ve been to the tomb. And it was empty.

You’ve experienced Him. And that encounter has forever blown your cover. Your membership to the ordinary has officially been revoked.

Expect Him today. He will whisper to your heart, so try to be quiet. He will sing over you, so don’t hesitate to fling your heart wide open. He will move you.

Because He died, you will live. And live. And live. Because He rose, you too will rise today—to second chances, do-overs, and new dreams.

A million Mondays can’t silence the thunder of that one Sunday or stifle the joy as you lifted your voice with the angels to sing, “Hosanna, Hosanna!”

No power on earth can eclipse what happened that day—a day that changed the composition of every other day to come.

For all you endured Lord, may I never forfeit the joy of the moment to “get through” another day. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord, you kept me from falling into the pit of death. Resurrection power has been spoken into my marrow. Let that miracle radically change . . . absolutely everything. May I unwrap this day with trembling, grateful, worship-worn hands.

Thank you God for your son and the Love that rescued me for the glory contained in this most amazing Monday. Amen.

How are you preserving your Resurrection Day glow?

Post/Tweet this today:
You’ve been to the tomb. And it was empty. Live boldly in light of the Resurrection . . . every day. #LiveSticky

Social media enthusiasts are enamored with the momentum of Pinterest.  The number of men jumping on ‘boards’ is growing. Brand marketers are quickly and strategically infiltrating this network wherever they can. Big brands, intent on converting images into new revenue and profits streams, populate the daily flow of images.

Meanwhile, for those of us on the lookout for every opportunity to #LiveSticky, Pinterest is yet another place to share and live out our faith.  On this platform every board holds the possibility of becoming a glorious reflection the God we serve.

Captivating images create conversations and conversations birth more shared experiences. Community happens, relationships form, inspiration abounds, and with a dose of intentionality, Pinterest creations introduce others to the One true Creator. Spirit-filled faith cannot be contained. It seeks to flow directly from our lives into the lives of others. On this rapidly growing social media platform, the current is strong.

Join @stickyJesus for a Live Chat at Patheos.com today!

After taking a brief hiatus from blogging, the @stickyJesus team is back . . . with some news. Since our book released in hardback nationwide this month, we’ve been having a blast doing interviews, guests posts, interacting with bloggers, and talking 24/7 about what it means to stand apart and #LiveSticky online.

You helped us get the word out online, and now the @stickyJesus message is finding new wings in retail stores and in direct-to-church channels, thanks to our friends at Abingdon Press, who now publish our little book.

What’s new?
Patheos Live Chat: We’re spicing things up in the months to come with guest bloggers, Q & A sessions, and kicking it all off with a live chat this week hosted by Patheos.com. Will you join us? The chat will be this week, Thurs. March 1, from 1-2, CT. Ask us questions, give us feedback, and share your personal challenges (and triumphs) in daily living out your faith in the online space!

Patheos Book Club: Being part of this diverse site has been great exposure for the gospel and this very unique platform of online evangelism. Please, join in the conversation if you’ve read the book. We’d love to see your post and add your feedback to the mix!

Store Locator: Wondering where you can get the beautiful new hardback of @stickyJesus: how to live out your faith online (Abingdon Press, Feb. 2012)? Check out these stores near you, or as always, you can purchase on Amazon.com in both hardback, ebook and Kindle. If the store nearest you doesn’t carry it—please ask them to!

In Churches: Wanna be extra sticky? Ask your pastor to carry @stickyJesus in your church bookstore. Simply give them this ISBN number: ISBN-13: 978-1-4267-4189-0 and they can easily order at the  church rate from Abingdon Press.

What’s next?

We’re excited to announce we’ve got a #LiveSticky curriculum coming out in the Fall 2012 that will include a DVD that includes how-tos, individual and group study questions, and stories from bloggers in the book.  It’s our prayer this curriculum will ignite the larger conversation in churches about how together we can share the gospel online—with confidence and impact!

We’ll also be speaking a ton, so stay tuned to our Media Room for more.

Again, thanks to all our #LiveSticky friends and helping us move this message forward!

Settle your soil this holiday season. Can your roots bear fruit?

parables of Jesus, Thanksgiving, Christmas stress, holiday stress, Christians online, scripture, holy spirit, sticky Jesus

" . . . Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.” Mark 4:8

By Toni Birdsong

So many people came to hear Jesus speak that day that he had to hop in a boat and paddle out on the water to address the crowd. They didn’t come to eat or socialize. In Mark 4 they, like so many people today, came looking for some way—some message—that might ease the incessant pang in their souls that everyday life had failed to ease.

an invitation to share, unite, and make him known

Will you share the book of your heart?

God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to His eyes. ~ Psalm 18:24, The Message

By Tami Heim

It’s amazing to live in a time when your faith story can transmit digitally and be received globally. In our book @stickyJesus, and on this site, we’re passionate about what’s possible when you share and live out your faith online. Imagine what God would do if the body united digitally to make Him known.

Are you be willing to make that happen?

Everyone has a story to share

King David knew how desperately he needed God to cleanse his heart and rewrite the text of his life. Imagine if David hadn’t shared his story? Think about how his experiences bring us joy, comfort, and assurance in moments of great need. We see his checkered life and what God can do even in times of great weakness. We connect with his exuberant triumphs and agonizing failures. In his story we relate, find hope, and understand the consequences of sin.

Isn’t it possible that your story could do the same for someone else?

30 scriptures to awaken trust, truth, and triumph

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11

by Toni Birdsong
Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most quoted scriptures of all time. And therein lies the rub.

We sing it, shout it, and share it with strangers—but still, like so many familiar scriptures, God’s words to Jeremiah have yet to arrest and take us captive. Why is it that the slightest crisis can so easily eclipse our hope?

Perhaps it’s because the one thing needed to ignite God’s power, is the one thing we refuse to fully render: trust

15 stickiest moments from the NOW Conference

And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow me.” John 21:18b, NKJV

by Tami Heim
High impact was redefined this past weekend when the Lifeway Threads staff assembled 15 speakers to pour into 500+ young adults for 22 hours. Friday night at 6:50 PM the doors of the Brentwood Baptist Church opened  to host the first ever  NOW Conference. Aaron Keyes and  the worship team launched the event by clearing out the clutter, amping up the energy, and preparing hungry hearts to receive exactly what God had for them.

Experiential and unconventional were promised and based on the buzz at the breaks and trending twitter feed, the desired outcome was achieved. God’s Word dominated each hour and it was impossible to escape the urgent call to live and give others the Gospel-NOW.

On the pages of custom-designed notebooks and through the hashtag twitter stream, sacred impressions were captured in the instant the Holy Spirit interpreted them. While the event was designed for young adults, truth is relevant at any age and it begs to be given away. The NOW of living missional applies to all of us.

Here are fifteen of the stickiest moments from the NOW Conference, the speakers who shared them, and the theme of each presentation.
