Happy Valentine's Day!
Jesus said, “A man planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it.” ~ Mark 12:1
By Toni Birdsong
We live on a broken planet; in a culture increasingly underwhelmed by vows, divorce and extramarital affairs—so Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to give a shout out to Love—God’s love for us, ours for Him, and for the gift and covenant of marriage.
As Christians living in a digital world we need to get intentional about honoring the covenant of marriage—for ourselves—and for a mislead world looking on. A Christ-centered marriage puts a “no trespassing” sign in the enemy’s face and tells everyone around you that values such as “marriage, fidelity, honor, respect, family, faith, and love” will never go out of fashion in your home.
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
~ John 17:20-21

We will never get there one at a time.
Who? The Church.
Jesus desired unity among believers. He knew the message of salvation would suffer if the world did not witness unity (the abnormal, radical, you-gotta-be-kidding-me kind) among believers. He knew that unity in the body produced love and that love would change the game—eternally.
We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19, NIV

Whether you are single, coupled, widowed, divorced, or somewhere in between remember: the desire for love and to be loved exists because God first loved us. It’s a divine gift. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ. – Philippians 1:9-10, NKJV
Listening is one of the deepest acts of love you can extend to another person.
Few people really listen anymore. In fact, it’s becoming a lost part of our cultural heritage, like playing board games or writing letters. We talk about this topic quite a bit in @stickyJesus: how to live out your faith online because it’s a critical part of sharing the gospel (online or off).
