The 10 Commandments of Twitter

Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Phil. 4:10

  1. Help people. Add value with your tweets.
  2. Stop talking and listen; genuinely respond.
  3. Write clearly; check grammar; don’t write in all caps (caps = yelling).
  4. Keep it short; 120 characters or less (so you can max your RTs).
  5. Be consistent; build trust; stand out.
  6. Be an encourager; lift the passions and concerns of others.
  7. Don’t dictate; but facilitate conversation.
  8. Meet with others face-to-face; attend events off-line.
  9. Go. Tweet boldly; @ 2-6 times an hour.
  10. Don’t argue online. We are contenders for the faith, not defenders.
